Alabama Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth recently delivered an inspiring speech to students from Hillcrest High School during the Britto Foundation’s Excellence on Education award luncheon.
Ainsworth, who is currently serving his second term as lieutenant governor, emphasized the importance of grit, determination, and hard work in achieving success.
The event, held at Northport City Hall, honored Hillcrest High School as the inaugural recipient of the Excellence on Education award.
Claire Doyle, the student commander of the Hillcrest High JROTC program, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the event and showcase their program.
Ainsworth shared his personal journey, highlighting how hard work and determination played a pivotal role in overcoming challenges and winning the lieutenant governor’s office.
He stressed the significance of investing in high school students as they represent the future workforce of Alabama.
Ainsworth, a small business owner and farmer from Marshall County, co-founded the Dream Ranch hunting lodge and the Tennessee Valley Hunting and Fishing Expo.
Additionally, he owns Ainsworth Real Estate and Ainsworth Homes, specializing in residential real estate construction and development.
Ainsworth’s message aligns with the Britto Foundation’s goal of acknowledging the achievements of students and teachers and changing the negative perception of the education system.
Hillcrest High School, which is part of the Tuscaloosa County School System, is located in south Tuscaloosa near the Taylorville community and has an enrollment of approximately 1,300 students.
